DAILY READ: Philippians

Posted on 27 June 2007 by Matt

I first have to start out by thanking Eddie. I plain fell down on blogging and here he is when I return! Thank you so much for continuing to check in on me. Your comments really fuel my passion for this site and you will never know how much it truly means to me. Thanks again.

With that being said, I have been looking forward to this book for a long time as this verse, that I discovered well before starting this site, is how I live my life:

Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again – rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Philippians 4:4-5 (NLT)

Man, be happy in living life for the Lord and show it to everybody, helping them along the way. I love it because it is concise and to the point. There is really no downside. Tomorrow is a great day:

No, dear brothers and sisters, I am still not all I should be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us up to heaven. Philippians 3:13 (NLT)

If I messed up today, that’s cool. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. And if I keep up the good fight:

And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 (NLT)

He will make sure that we are taken care of and at the end of the race, it will be all good! I know that even whether I am up or down, I will be fine with his help:

Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to get along happily whether I have much or little. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything with the help of Christ who gives me the strength I need. Philippians 4:11-13 (NLT)

The Apostle Paul was a really bad guy. He killed Christians! Yet, he saw the way and was not only saved, but became an Apostle. No matter how good or bad it gets, I have Christ and he will get me and my family through it.

I told you was excited about this book. Read on…
